Seminars and Webinars

A recent research study by the New Client Marketing Institute, a San-Diego based lead generation firm, shows that the number one way to generate leads is by holding small-scale seminars. Your web site is a great place to tell your audience about these seminars, as well as sign them up.

Even if you aren't equipped to go face-to-face with your prospects, a seminar strategy can work. Many of the companies I work with have clients in different parts of the country, and the world. Obviously, small-scale seminars would not be a cost-effective proposition in these cases.

The Internet, however, saves the day via "Webinars." A Webinar can run the gamut from full, real-time interaction with bells-and-whistles, to a simple PowerPoint slide show and a conference call phone number. Some popular webinars feature live or taped digital video streamed over the net, voice recordings, and Flash presentations. Webinars can reach people across the globe, from the comfort of their homes and offices.

One additional recommendation concerning Webinars: Ask people to sign up on the web using forms that also offer an opt-in to your e-mail list. You can then grow your e-mail database for future, consistent communication.
